"Whoa" -By James Bui

Every once in a while…I come across a pomade that I never thought I’d try, but now, I end up trying…and it always seems to end up surprising me.

So lets talk about Billy Jealousy Pomade.

Billy Jealousy Lunatic Fringe Pomade

You CANNOT blame me for avoiding this pomade all this time. I mean…it’s got a dragon on it. A DRAGON! Like fourth-grade dragon-fighting-gundam jacket level. And so, with good reason, I preemptively believed this pomade would a one of those sissy-ass salon hair products. And well, I’m right…but it turned out to be a pretty damn good one.

Scent

It smells like a standard salon shampoo, to be perfectly honest. A deep floral, sweet, lotion-like smell. Not what I’ve always wanted, but also, not as bad as it can be.

Texture & Application

It has a texture similar to that of Steadfast. Billy Jealousy is a soft goop that’s easy to scoop and even easier to apply to the hair. I think this is a characteristic that we can expect among all salon-level products. They’re easy to work with but rarely do they perform adequately.

Slickness

It’s some slick shit. Not even just for a water-based, it is slick. You’ll notice my sides here in the photo and in the video. They are slicked down nice and tight as hell. Also, the pomp itself is kept together amazingly well.

Shine

Like any other water-based pomade, it has no shine after it dries.

Strength

It has amazing strength…not in terms of the hold but the quality of the control. The type of hold it offers the user is so different from anything else a water-based pomade can offer. It’s not brute hold. It is refined control. Just try it.

Endurance

My pomp didn't actually sag that much after the entire day. I'm impressed. Very very impressed.

Restylability

It also performs better in this category than a majority of any other water-based pomade. Preferably, you'll want a source of water to work with, of course. But also you can do minor corrections without any water.

Hardness

It doesn't dry much at all. It's to the same extent as The Daimon Barber No. 1 where it hardens but never gets crusty.

Conclusion

Simply put. Billy Jealousy Pomade receives my seal of approval without any doubts, downsides, or fucks...except that i wish it was in a nicer jar and had a better scent.
